Ramsey Health Centre

CONSULTATIONS

We are fortunate in having a large team of clinical and administrative staff who can help you with your health needs. In order for us to help you to access the most appropriate health resource we need to be aware of your specific needs. It is not always appropriate for you to see a doctor - it may be that another one of our clinical or administrative team will be able to help you. We are happy to offer a health check with a doctor or Practice Nurse for patients aged between 16 and 75 who have not attended the Health Centre within the past three years and for those patients aged over 75 who have not attended during the last 12 months.

All consultations are for 10 minutes and surgery times are:

Nurses: Monday - Friday 08.20 - 12.00 and 15.00 - 17.30 (booked appointments)
14.00 - 15.00 (urgent/emergency appointments)
Thursday 14.00 - 17.00 (additional surgery - Baby Clinic by appointment)
GPs: Monday - Friday 08.30 - 12.30 (booked appointments)
14.00 - 17.30 (booked appointments)

You can help us by:

• Telling us why you would like to speak to a doctor or need an appointment with an other healthcare professional. This means we can direct you quickly to the appropriate healthcare professional.
• Letting us know if you need to cancel an appointment.
• Ringing the dispensary after 09:30 and 14:30.
• Requesting a home visit before 11:00.
• Ringing for results of tests after 14:00.

OUT-OF-HOURS

When we are closed overnight, at weekends and public holidays your call will automatically be transferred to the Out-of-Hours Service which is run by Cambridgeshire Primary Care Trust. Please call 01487 812611 and your call will be diverted. A doctor or nurse will answer your call, assess the problem and offer advice if appropriate. You may then be asked either to go to the Emergency Care Centre at Hinchingbrooke Hospital or wait for a doctor to visit you at your home or call an ambulance.
